Spanish Wine Dinner with Fergus O’Halloran @ The Twelve Hotel

On Sunday April 14th, West restaurant at The Twelve will bring the week of celebrations to a close with a Fiesta in West, an afternoon of delicious Connemara tapas and exceptional wine selected from four different regions of Spain, running from from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m..
Take a wine journey through Spain with one of Ireland’s top sommeliers, wine expert Fergus O’Halloran, who will introduce each wine and their region. Paired with Spanish-inspired tapas with the inimitable West treatment created by head chef Martin O’Donnell, each dish will be accompanied by a glass of Spanish wine, four different varietals and regions, chosen by Fergus.
Tapas on the day will include the best of the west of Ireland’s local produce recreating Spanish tapas with a strong Galway accent. Including ham hock croquettes with piccalilli and rhubarb & sherry chutney, Spanish tortilla with smoked mussels, Connemara ham and wild rocket, and local pork meatballs slow braised in cider, pimentos and chorizo, the centrepiece of the day will be organic Connemara black face mountain lamb smoked over gorse and alder on the Big Green Egg.
A Fiesta in West costs €39 per person and includes a wine introduction with three local tapas, smoked Connemara lamb, petits fours and wine pairing. There are also special overnight rates available for guests who would like to stay at The Twelve of €230 for two people including breakfast and the afternoon of Spanish wine and Irish tapas in West.
